M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed their BE/BTech degree.
Admission is based on rank obtained in the entrance test conducted for ME./MTech.
The Candidates having M.Sc degree in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent can also apply for M.Tech.
MCA candidates are also eligible to apply for specializations available in areas of computer science engineering.
MTech eligibility criteria would vary from institute to institute.
The candidate has to appear for relevant entrance examination State level entrance exam or GATE specific university entrance tests etc on the basis of which they will be ranked and selected for the relevant streams.
The duration of this course is 2 years.
M.Tech course is divided into 4 semesters.
Admissions into M.Tech programme is purely done through the national level or state level entrance exam.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2018) is the all India level examination which provides admission in IITs.
GATE scores are also accepted by many reputed engineering institutions.
Certain universities offer direct admission to the M.Tech program.
Engineering Entrance Exam for M.Tech Admission
GATE is a national-level engineering exam condcuted every year for admission to postgraduate and doctorate level courses at IITs, NITs and IIITs.
The exam is jointly conducted by IITs
Various government and private institutions across the country accept the GATE score for admission to their MTech programmes.
In 2020, GATE will be organised by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in online mode on February 1, 2, 8 and 9.
Application forms for GATE 2020 will be available from September 3, 2019 and the last date to apply for the same is September 24.
GATE scores will be valid for a period of three years from the date of the release of the GATE Result.
